Arizona State’s indoor football practice facility was re-inflated on Friday as the school began the process of determining how the fabric roof was damaged in an Aug. 28 storm.
The exterior holes and tears on the roof were repaired, enabling the air pressure-supported “bubble” structure to go back up and assessors to enter.
Initial estimates to repair the roof are $900,000 to $1 million. The concrete foundation and the FieldTurf surface remain intact.
The $8.4-million, 103,000-square foot facility opened in August, and the Sun Devils practiced inside it eight times before the roof was damaged.
